Melissa Lloyd joins MSI as a technical manager in the Peace and Stability practice area. Prior to joining MSI, Mel worked at Blumont International, reviewed Department of State’s Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operation’s East Africa Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) portfolio, trained special operations forces on advanced conflict and governance analysis, and served as Chief Operating Officer of a social enterprise in Mali and Senegal.
With more than 15 years of experience, including 10 years living and working across Africa and Europe, she brings substantial operational and technical expertise related to countering violent extremism, promoting peace dividends, and working across U.S. government agencies, various security sector actors, civil society and the private sector.
Mel holds a master’s degree from Leicester University in England and a bachelor’s from Texas A&M University. Mel is a certified leadership and team coach at Georgetown University and enjoys nothing more than haggling in wayward markets around the world.
