Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Services in the Middle East and North Africa
We provide USAID with high quality monitoring, evaluation and learning services in the MENA region
MSI implements the USAID MEL contract for the MENA region. We are currently implementing 12 similar contracts around the world.
This MENA monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) contract builds upon our deep technical and regional expertise and ability to work in complex, non-permissive environments. It also adds to our significant areas of strength as a firm – delivering services that inform our clients and lead to improved development outcomes.
We will offer MEL support to USAID operating units, including bureaus, offices, and regional and bilateral missions. Countries supported through the award include Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, the West Bank and Gaza, and Yemen.
Over the five-year period of performance (2019-2024) the project aims to provide USAID with empirical data on program effectiveness, deepen accountability, foster learning and knowledge management, and improve MEL capacity in the region.
Our local Jordanian partner, a woman-owned small business, will staff local positions so that we can hit the ground running.
MSI has a long history of supporting USAID Missions with this critical support around the world. We have pioneered new methods to gather program data in non-permissive environments via third-party monitoring including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Mali, Nigeria, Sudan, Syria, Pakistan, and Yemen. We tailor each approach to monitoring, evaluation and learning to our client’s information and development needs.
