Gäelle Simon is practice area lead for education with 13 years of experience in planning, managing and evaluating international education projects. She has worked extensively with USAID and other donors, Ministries of Education and contractors to design and implement education projects, learning assessments and monitoring systems in Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East and South Asia. She leads the training of item writers, master trainers, quality control officers and enumerators, and supervises the implementation of large-scale curriculum-based and Early Grade Reading and Mathematics Assessments (EGRA/EGMA) in Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, and Pakistan. She is also the lead technical advisor for a large monitoring and evaluation project covering the USAID education portfolio in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She has also led the development and implementation of performance evaluations of education programs and the technical design and implementation of teacher training programs and curriculum and materials development. Gäelle has a bachelor’s degree in inclusive elementary education from Syracuse University, a master’s degree in international education policy from Harvard University, and a certificate in advanced project management from Stanford University. She is fluent in English, French and Haitian Creole.
